Martin, Kate, Allan, Steve, Becky and I ( and several others.....), went down to Esch to see Coldcut. I had never heard of them before and had no idea what to expect. A little apprehensive at the start, but a convert by the end.
Let me describe it as someone taking songs and tunes you know and chopping them all up and putting them back together in a different order, and the same with images in time to the music. That is about as well as I can explain it. I don't think I have ever danced so much. We took a couple of vids to try and capture the essence of it. Have a look........

Duke's Birthday Weekend 23rd June
The weekend got off to a bang.... the fireworks for the Duke's birthday were amazing as always..... A good night was had by all, with much laughter and merriment..... well total drunkeness.... but we still made the last bus home, (at 3:30am).
Martin had to work Saturday and Sunday as overtime, so the rest of the weekend was pretty quiet. I had a lovely BBQ buffet meal with the family, and Liam and Nicholas, who had come over for the weekend. I think I preferred it to the normal menu!!!

Caroline Goodbye 20th June
It was Caroline's Goodbye dinner. Martin and I took her to a lovely Italian restaurant in Senningerberg for a farewell meal.
I am going to miss Caroline so much, but I know she needs to move and start again.
It was such a perfect evening that we even had to stop the car to take a picture of the sky.
A very sad day.....

La-Petite-Pierre 16th & 17th June
As we have a mad summer approaching, Martin and I decided to get away from it all by spending a couple of days doing nothing. We found a small village in the Vosges where we could escape to for a weekend.
It was only a 2 hour drive from Lux, but the scenery was beautiful. La-Petite-Pierre is just a small village but there is also the castle and a smaller part of the village within the castle walls. This gave us plenty of opportunity to walk through the woods and round the castle walls, and admire the views.
We had a five course meal on the Saturday, and then Sunday morning breakfast from the local bakery. We ate lunch in the restaurant in the castle walls, and went for the traditional Alsacian tarte flambe.
The weather could not have been better. It was a pleasant 26 degrees all weekend. On the way back through the French / German border we passed the sign below. We thought it was so apt that we had to stop and take a picture!!!! We even made it back to Lux in time to pop in to wish Dad a Happy Father's day, and to go to dinner with Martin's family.
