Abs' Birthday

That time of year agin with non-stop food and drink.......

Now it is time for Abigail's birthday......

Despite still being full from Christmas dinner we all ventured out to Abigal's and gave her presents, and then off we trotted (or rolled more to the point), to the Beer House.

Another lovely dinner, and nice to have the family together (although Rom, Emilie and Lilly couldn't make it as were poorly).

Christmas

Wow... what a Christmas.....

We both had to work Christmas Eve until lunchtime time, but that wasn't going to spoil anything!!!

We headed down to the Christmas market at about 4pm and met up with friends and had a few drinks....then it was time for us and Marty's family to go over to Abs' for ham, egg and chips and then played on the Wii, until the early hours....

Christmas morning we opened stockings and then got up and dressed..... had he been??? Well Lets just say I think he had!!!!

We stood shocked at the size of the pressie pile and nobody could move!!!! We had to eat breakfast (salmon or bacon with scrambled egg on toast), before opening any gifts.
After 2 hours of pressies, Marty and I had to leave to go to see his family. We opened more gifts and had a lovely Christmas dinner.

Christmas evening saw us in Urban, and Boxing Day saw us with rather bad hangovers!!! We had Tree presents with Marty's family, and then over to Abigail's to have roast beef and more tree presents.

Everyone had a great Christmas, no, I really mean it!

Christmas Tree and Dad's Birthday

At last we managed to buy a Christmas tree!

It is just a little one as we do not have much room. I think it is nice and pretty, so that is all that matters.

Today was also Dad's birthday so we went out for dinner at the BeerHouse and had a nice meal.

Dad opened his presents before dinner but we had to go back afterwards for cake and coffee as there was not enough time before hand.

Trier Christmas Market

Today we went to the Trier Christmas Market. Val, Ed, Don, Irene, Kate, Marty and I all trundled off to the gare and took the train to Trier.

It was a bit rainy but that didn't stop us. We first found the hat shop Mum was looking for, and then walked through the market..... we ate sausages and amazing garlic mushrooms. We had gluhwein in Trier Market mugs (you pay a 2 euro deposit for a mug which is decorated with picutres of Trier and says Trier Market and the year, and you can either keep it or take it back for a refund). We then bought a few bits and pieces for Secret Santa presents for work, and then off to the wine bar.

There was an old wooden wine press, and lots of old barrels, so we sat between them and had coffee's, coke's, cheese and wine. We then went back to the market and bought hot chocolate to collect some more mugs, (even though mine said 2004 on it!!!), and then back to the station to get the train home.

Very tired , but a very nice day.

International Bazaar

For me, the International Bazaar is the first sign that Christmas is just around the corner! Well, it started today.

We had taken Emilie and Frank their Advent Calanders yesterday, had dinner with Abs and Rom, and finished our game of Mahjong, which Marty won by an incredible amount.... so I knew Decmber would soon be here....

Well, this morning Marty opened his first day on his Advnt calender and found refresher sweets and a Whm bar..... then we watched Hot Fuzz, which was amusing but also suprisingly violent, and then we headed off to the bazaar.

Marty's mum and Kate were working on the British stand, and we bought a lovely Polar bear tea-towel. We also bought several Christmas decorations and a couple of pressies.......

We drank "Grog", ate ham and cheese, and bought plenty of raffle tickets for the British and Suisse stands. We will be going back tomorrow to see if we won anything, and lso to buy a couple mre bits and pieces.

The Christmas market also opened this weeknd, but we haven't got time to fit it in.

I was also meant to go to my work Christmas party today, and bought a dress specially, but as I have been poorly (again) I was not able to go :(
